I came to Han about 3 years ago suffering from herniated discs in my neck that I had just taken my last steroid cortisone shots for. The time between shots was too close which meant the medicine was no longer working and I had to go to something else. I researched and opted for acupuncture with an open mind but some skepticism. I am now a complete believer. At least when Han is the practitioner.
Han listened and got a very good understanding of my diagnoses and, in particular, the pain I was experiencing to include type and location. Suffice to say, I am now a believer. Han not only addressed the pain associated with my herniated discs, he systematically has treated lower back pain, pain in my Achilles tendon, my foot, and my knee. The pain has been removed and inflammation reduced. Han takes his time and I receive three-part treatment (needling, cupping, manipulation) with each session, to include use of herbals, which I now do as maintenance, preemptively and for overall balance.
His prices are fair, and he is extremely flexible in his scheduling. I have nothing but good things to say about Han and have already recommended him to people that he might be able to help. I always leave feeling better than when I arrived.

I have been a patient of Hanbiao Cao, acupuncturist, licensed in the state of Maryland, for the last ten years.
My initial treatments were for back pain and arthritis in the right knee. However, Han’s treatments included the entire body, balancing the complete body from the head to the toe and including elbows, hands and fingers. His treatments lasted over an hour, ending with a back massage. I found them most pleasant.
I am now 88 years old and in reasonably good health. I think acupuncture has contributed to my well- being. Of course, Covid has ended my sessions for the time being.
Han is a consummate professional with an excellent bedside manner. He is gentle, soft-spoken and a pleasure to work with.
Since knowing him all these years, Han has become a friend to me and my family. I value him as my acupuncturist and my friend.
